Purpose of LCCTI

"People will not easily cross cultural barriers to hear the message of Christ" (Donald McGavran 1897 - 1990).

LCCTI specializes in helping missionaries throughout the world cross the cultural divide in communicating the gospel and developing strategies for ministry effectiveness.

There are many people who teach cultural anthropology and cross-cultural communication. There are not as many people, however, who have lived in and crossed cultures to develop a conextually specific strategy that is relevant to those who hear the message of Christ. Richard Lewis (DMiss.) not only knows how to use the tools of anthropology but can help church workers understand how cultures work and how to apply the biblical message to people in THEIR context.

LCCTI Provides Training For:

NATIONAL MISSIONARIES: The myth of missions is that "If we just disciple nationals they will reach their own country for Christ." That's a true statement IF the discipleship is culturally relevant and the nationals missionaries know how to cross cultures. Like North Amercian's, most nationals in Asia, Africa, Latin America, are trained in theology, not church planting and certainly not cross cultural church planting. Most of Richard's work is helping the church develop a strategy for cross-cultural church ministry.

OUR TRAINING PROGRAM - We provide a two to three week course in how to understand culture and apply that knowledge for ministry. LCCTI can come to your school, school or organization and give you quality training in your setting. Our training is intense and focused, wtih a track record of preparing missionaries for effective ministry for 30 years.

Relevant Training For Today's World

With over thirty years of experience, LCCTI has provided cross-cultural training for churches, missionaries and mission agencies. Our ministry philosphy is simple: Learn the questions before trying to give the answers. By training workers how to understand people of other cultures -- their worldview, religion, family structure, interpersonal relationships -- they will be better equipped in developing an appropriate strategy for ministry and communication of the Gospel within their context.
